Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Provide direct chairside assistance to doctor(s) during all in-office comprehensive, restorative, and surgical procedures
* Provide secondary assistance in surgeries to include non-sterile assisting, patient monitoring, documentation, and pushing medications during IV sedation and general anesthesia cases under the direct instruction of the doctor(s)
* Take traditional and digital impressions, perform x-clips and CBCT scans, and diagnostic radiographs when necessary
* Maintain all professional licensing requirement by the State of Maine
* Complete sterile and clean operatory set-ups
* Preparation and organization of dental trays, instruments, materials, components, medications, and equipment for scheduled dental visits
* Practice universal precautions and comply with OSHA guidelines for infections control
* Seat patients, triage, review and update patient medical/dental history, and take vital signs
* Properly document patient records
* Assist with lab tasks as needed
* Assist with front office tasks as needed

Skills:
* Excellent communication, people, and organizational skills
* Ability to work independently and take on new tasks
* Team player
* Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
* Understanding of health & safety regulations
* Good computer skills
* Attention to detail

Experience:
* Dental office assisting (required)
* BLS (required)
* X-Ray License (required)
* Use of Dentrix software (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
