When it comes to where you work, we know you’ve got choices…here’s what we provide:

Pay Rate: $17.00/Hour
An extra $1 per hour for eligible 2nd shift and weekend hours
Position Status: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Schedule: Week 1: Monday-Thursday 8:00 am-6:00pm; Week 2: Saturday-Wednesday 8:00 am-4:00 pm

Are you a seasoned Direct Support Professional (DSP) who is looking to make that next step in your career? UCP's Senior Direct Support Professional (DSP) can challenge you to do just that This role will provide you with the opportunity to learn supervisory roles and responsibilities while also staying directly connected with the participants who we support day in and day out.

Responsibilities:

Here’s what to expect on the job:

Assist the Residential Supervisor in the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the Residential program.
Assist the individuals with scheduling medical appointments, all follow up recommendations and ensure that all medical needs of individuals are fulfilled.
Help individuals with disabilities build self-esteem and independence through making everyday decisions.
Use effective communication to build relationships and rapport with the individuals.
Develop and carry out an individualized plan based on individual preferences, needs, and interests.
Provide and assist the individuals with direct care skills such as personal care and hygiene.
Teach and assist the individuals with daily living skills.
Assist with adaptive equipment and therapies (i.e., physical, occupational, and speech).
Explore work interests with the individual and assist in preparing for job or school entry.
Develop and assist with relationships within the community to establish social connections, community connections and relationships.
Arrange and supervise activities including shopping trips, social outings, and doctor’s appointments for each individual.
Qualifications:

Minimum requirements:

18 years of age
A valid driver’s license and 6 months driving experience
Access to a vehicle with valid insurance, registration, and inspection
A team player who can be flexible with their schedule
6+ Months previous Caregiving, Direct Support Professional, or Direct Care Worker experience
Ability to communicate, read, write, and understand the English language

Preferred, but not required:

A High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate

Knowledge specific to the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and/or the aging population.
