*Full Time, Day Shift or Evening Shift Position Available*
*PURPOSE/BELIEF STATEMENT*
The position of Transportation Assistant exists to assist residents with transportation to and from inside facility and outside physician appointments and events in a safe manner and in accordance with established procedures.

Candidates must have a clean driving record and, as a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be able to lift and transfer residents. The Transportation Aide must be willing to work a variety of hours and weekends depending on the need.
*JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Transport and assist residents, per facility vehicle, to outside physician visits in a safe manner.
* Assist with transporting residents within the facility to scheduled specialty appointments, i.e. podiatry, audiology, optometry, dental, etc.
* Assist with transporting residents to and from scheduled in-house activities.
* Provide one on one monitoring for residents deemed an elopement risk on outside visits.

_*As a CNA:*_
* Transfer and lift residents.
* Perform basic nursing care procedures for residents as required.
* Create a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents and assure that their needs are met.
* Maintain resident documentation records.
* Maintain and work within established departmental, center, and corporate policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
* Attend and participate in scheduled training, educational classes, and orientation programs to maintain certification and enhance quality of care.
* Perform other related activities as assigned or requested.

*QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS*
* High school graduate or G. E. D. equivalent
* Must possess a current, valid Driver’s License in State of employment.
* *CNA required:* Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or be eligible to enter such a program and graduate and pass a state test within 120 days from date of employment.
* Must possess Red Cross First Aid Certificate.
* Prior work/life experiences involving independent decision making
* Prior work/life experiences, preferably in healthcare or a service industry
* Compassionate and enthusiastic personality
