Position Purpose: * Accepts the responsibility and accountability for the entire unit during a designated shift and the evaluation and treatment of the populations. * Responsible for planning, supervising, and evaluating the nursing care of patients and for correlating the nursing process, the medical plan of care and policies. Provides direct patient care when necessary. * Reports to Obstetrical and Nursery Unit Director. * Responsible for compliance with overall nursing practice standards of the specialty area (Reports to Department Director) * Responsible for compliance with standards during assigned shift (Reports to House Supervisor) * Uses established principles of delegation and supervision to direct the activities of all licensed and non-licensed care givers and support staff in the delivery of patient care during their assigned shift * Uses independent judgment to ensure optimal delivery of patient care and appropriate use of available resources Requirements: * Current/Active RN license * Associates Degree in Nursing, Bachelors preferred * BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications required. * Recent clinical experience in Obstetrical and Nursery * Previous Charge Nurse or related management experience preferred At North Okaloosa Medical Center, we believe in providing convenient care in a comfortable setting.
