Under limited guidance, perform Star – Test Only Smog Check inspections. You will be part of a small team in a mutually respectful, collaborative environment. Friendly, informative, high quality member service is required at all times while effectively utilizing opportunities to cross sell other Club products and services, increasing member awareness and satisfaction. You may need to utilize bilingual English/Spanish language up to 40% of the time while serving our members.
1 . Perform Star Test Only Smog Checks for Club members and the motoring public at our smog centers in accordance with our smog center policies and procedures, state Smog Check laws, and Club service quality levels.
2 . Inform members through oral and written communications of the condition of their vehicles and smog check results.
3. Provide management with daily, weekly, and monthly activity reports in order to track key metrics including, productivity, member usage, and others.
4. Achieve service quality, expense, member service, and revenue goals
5. Maintain the smog check facility, the diagnostic, and smog equipment in clean proper working order at all times ensuring an ideal member service experience, and a safe working environment.
6. Provide recommendations to management to facilitate achieving goals and improved productivity.
7. Account for fees collected and deposited with the district office cashier, ensuring compliance with cashiering guidelines, club policies, and daily reconciliation in a timely manner.
8. Educate members in the preventive aspects of vehicle maintenance. Provide information regarding the clubs Approved Auto Repair program and other Club products and services.
9. Ensure the facility is in compliance with Bureau of Automotive Repair requirements for equipment, signage and licenses at all times.
10. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
Smog Check License required and must be eligible to work in a “Star Certified – Test Only smog check facility”, and maintain an .4 or higher Follow Up Pass Rate at all times and zero B.A.R. violations. (ASE) Master and L1 Advanced Engine Performance Certification desired. Minimum of 5 years experience in the Automotive repair industry or a smog test center desired. Must have excellent oral communication skills, good written communication skills, advanced, technical, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Must have moderate computer skills with a general knowledge of Microsoft Office software products, such as Outlook, Word, Excel. Valid automobile driver's license and a good driving record required. High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification required Must be proficient at using all smog equipment-based technology and possess necessary basic tools to perform smog inspections.
The starting pay range for this position is:
$27.48 - $36.64Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
