Job Description Summary

The Associate Director of Digital Solutions at the School of Professional Studies (SPS) is responsible for implementing and managing critical digital solutions to optimize student experience and team productivity, collaboration, and efficiency. This role partners with stakeholders across SPS to implement technology solutions, deliver best-in-class user experiences and training, and provide technical and facilities management support. The Associate Director collaborates with the SPS team and internal and external partners to continually enhance service, scalability, operational efficiency, and achieve school-wide goals through purposeful, proactive innovation and superior technical support.

Job Description

Essential Functions:
  • Support and maintain SPS digital systems and applications, communicating technical solutions as they are identified or developed. Ensure the consistency of existing applications while enforcing standards and security of these systems and applications.
  • Serve as the first point of contact and support for all information technology and AV products and services at SPS, including answering questions, troubleshooting problems, providing effective training, and communicating and applying relevant policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical experience and project management support to successfully implement and support new and existing business and academic technologies.
  • Identify and implement automation and enhancement opportunities for SPS processes that streamline workflows, reduce manual tasks, and enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness through innovative technology solutions.
  • Support facilities needs and purchasing of needed technical, AV and other equipment, supplies, and materials across SPS.
  • Provide event support services for the School, including technical support and coordination and execution of on and off-campus activities.
  • Maintain policies, procedures, and goals for digital solutions and facilities management.
  • Manage and monitor the School's equipment inventory to ensure accurate records.
  • Collaborate with University Information Systems, other University partners, and external vendors to support the SPS information technology ecosystem.
Other Functions:
  • Collaborate with other University and/or external partners to ensure effective and efficient operations relevant to functional area.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or other closely related fields with five or more years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • General knowledge of academic technology platforms, including: student information systems, learning management systems, admissions systems, and/or customer relationship management systems. Understand core educational processes and associated technical solutions that support student engagement and learning.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using cloud-based office tools, including Microsoft Office, Google platforms, and other relevant software
  • Ability to analyze data, detect patterns and trends, interpret situations, investigate problems, recommend solutions or actions, and maintain controls and data integrity.
  • Agile and adaptive in navigating change, ambiguity and challenges; while learning quickly, leveraging proactive problem-solving skills in a variety of situations, and displaying a flexible mindset.
  • Effective at managing projects, including project planning, execution and monitoring with a collaborative and proactive problem-solving approach.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Master's degree in computer science, management information systems, or other closely related fields.
  • Information Technology management experience in a higher education setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with specific platforms, including: Canvas, Slate, Hubspot, and Workday Student.
