Compensation:

  • As an Agency Owner, you have unlimited income potential (this role is commission-only with generous start-up funds).
  • $48,000 Start Up Fund & $12,000 Business Accelerator Fund to expedite the growth of your book of business.
  • New Agents can earn up to 3x new business commission in the first 5 years

Travel: Must be willing to travel throughout Southeast Michigan.

Job Type: Full-Time 1099 contract position


The Benefits of Being a Farm Bureau Agent / Agency Owner:

  • For every policy bound $1 will be donated to help End Childhood Hunger in Michigan.

Insurance Sales Agent / Agency Owner Role Summary:

We are rapidly growing operations in southeast Michigan and offering a lucrative pathway into one of the most profitable industries in the U.S. Best part is that you do NOT need any insurance experience. We will provide the tools, training, resources, and environment required to become a highly successful Agency Owner.

You will join a team of business owners representing a Michigan-owned and operated company with a business model that maximizes cash flow and residual income opportunities while providing the financial support to grow rapidly. You will become a trusted advisor in your community, inspiring the dreams of your clients by helping them protect what matters most. You will be in business for yourself, but not by yourself with business and peer coaching from successful Agents and Managing Partners. Our New Agent Development program is designed to provide you the freedom to earn while you learn and develop into your career.

Insurance Sales Agent / Agency Owner Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive personal insurance policies (including home, auto, boat, umbrella, and life insurance) to individuals, and commercial insurance policies to small and mid-sized businesses
  • Explore opportunities to offer additional coverage such as health insurance and unique insurance licenses (e.g., luxury car insurance)
  • Expand and manage your team of sales professionals and customer service representatives to increase your book of business and ensure effective account service
  • Assist clients with inquiries and guide them through the renewal process, adopting a comprehensive advisory approach rather than focusing solely on cost
  • Focus on building long-lasting client relationships, providing educated advice on insurance plans that best suit their needs

Insurance Sales Agent / Agency Owner Requirements:

  • Willingness and ability to take and pass the exam to obtain a Michigan State Life & Health License
  • Excellent communication skills, including both written and verbal
  • Good at building long-lasting relationships
  • No business bankruptcies within the last 12 months and no prior felony convictions (must be able to pass our background check requirements)
  • Interest in insurance and educating customers on their plan options
