Job Summary:The Assurance Professional Practice Director, Quality in Markets and Industry is responsible for maintaining audit quality at BDO RISE by working directly with various key stakeholders from the Professional Practice Group (PPG) including the Chief Compliance & Ethics Office, the Assurance Learning group, the Audit Methodology & Consultations group, National Risk Management, Assurance Inspections, SEC Services and the Independence group. This role is also responsible for defining and monitor the scope of involvement of BDO RISE professionals on various assurance engagements and develop practical solutions to assist US engagement teams in leveraging BDO RISE. This role is also responsible for establishing, updating, and maintaining the Audit Quality Manual for BDO RISE.Job Duties:Leads Integrating RISE into Public and Private Audit Engagements:Develops RISE integration plans, expected deliverables and timelines Designs and develops the strategy and related guidance, tools, or templates, as needed, for RISE integrationOversees RISE compliance with BDO Audit methodology and documentationBDO RISE Audit Quality & Training:Drafts and updates the Audit Quality Manual for BDO RISE as an appendix to the BDO USA Audit Quality ManualReviews learning needs, and industry specific trainings for alignment with overall firm requirementsMonitors compliance with required trainings and other matters for BDO RISE professionalsPerforms annual reviews of BDO RISE Audit Quality Manual and other Quality initiativesFacilitates Learning and Development:Participates in planning, developing, and facilitating learning and training events for BDO USA professionals on integrating BDO RISE on their engagementsDelivers trainings to BDO RISE professionals on audit methodology and documentationCollaborates with the Learning and Development group in developing cross cultural trainings for BDO USA and BDO RISE professionalsOther duties:Actively participates in methodology initiatives including working directly with engagement teams on audit consultationsOther duties as requiredSupervisory Responsibilities: Acts as a Career Advisor to associates, seniors and managers as assignedProvides verbal and written performance reviews to associates, seniors and managersQualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, requiredExperience:Ten (10) or more years of prior assurance services work experience, requiredPrior Offshore and Onshore audit experience, requiredLicense(s)/Certification(s):CPA or equivalent certification, requiredSoftware:Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, preferredExperience with assurance research databases, preferredLanguage(s):N/AOther Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Solid understanding and proficiency of audit methodology and proficiency in auditing standardsStrong leadership and management skillsSuperior written and verbal communications skillsAdvanced knowledge of technical aspects of auditing, as well as PCAOB rules and regulationsBDO delivers assurance, tax, digital technology solutions and financial advisory services to clients throughout the country and around the globe.
