Job Description Job Function: 01. Supervision of Staff: supervises the dispensing of all medications, including robotic cart fill, cabinet based dispensing functions, decentralized pharmacists and satellites and all pharmacy operations.   Job Function: 02. Scheduling: Coordinates all pharmacy personnel scheduling to provide 24 hour service. This includes creative problem solving and rearrangement of positions during short staff situations.  Job Function: 03. Staff Orientation: Performs orientation of employees in all job functions and requirements listed on the orientation checklist. Completes documentation and 3 month evaluation. Continues to meet with employees to discuss issues and promote advancement. Job Function: 04. Staff Evaluations: Actively participates in annual evaluations and works with employees throughout the year handling performance and discipline issues. Job Function: 05. Staff Education: Provides continual training and cross training to employees on new job functions and technology. Informs staff of new and/or upcoming programs and promotes participation. Job Function: 06. Regulatory Compliance: Demonstrates knowledge of standards and regulations and maintains proper documentation. Assures readiness with all regulatory agencies and compliance with department, hospital, and AHS policies and procedures. Assists in the documentation, implementation, and monitoring of medication and patient safety initiatives. Job Function: 07.Commitee Participation: Attends meetings and/or committees as a representative for pharmacy and pharmacy interests. Job Function: 08. Pharmacy Initiatives: Functions as a staff Pharmacist, supports and actively participates in department and AHS initiatives. Assists with department financial management activities. Seeks opportunities to work independently on projects and takes on new responsibilities. Job Function: 09. Specialty: Operational supervisor  - Maintains smooth operations and workflow in pharmacy. Promotes further decentralization and pharmacist initiative support.  Job Function: 10. Teamwork. Supports the departmental goals as a team player by assisting staff members and being flexible in roles and responsibilities. Complies with departmental coverage guidelines. Actively supports the Atlantic Health strategic goals. Supports cross campus communications and sharing of best practices.

Education/Experience: 

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy. 
  • Current active registration and licensure with the State of New Jersey Board of Pharmacy. 
  • Two (+) years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Management experience preferred. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent supervisory and teaching skills.
