What you will do in this role:

  • Facilitates response to request for services, including the initial response, the assessment and referral process, the designation of appropriate level of care, admission into services and appropriate follow up activity.
  • Conducts initial evaluation, initiates the assessment, documenting patient symptomology, functioning, needs and provides information to MD for LOC determination.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer serviced skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors and coworkers in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Possess clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA.
  • Maintains all preadmission and admission paperwork with accuracy, completes all per-certification with insurance companies.
  • Actively seeks to identify new potential referral sources.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field degree or per state of practice guidelines or graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required
  • Experience:  Preferred minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric health care facility, direct practice in mental health treatment, crisis intervention
  • License: Current unencumbered clinical social work or counseling license.  RN license may be accepted. Valid driver’s license and a favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), along with proof of insurance when using own auto
  • Additional Requirements:   May be required to work flexible hours and overtime, ability to meet typing keyboard expectations
