Mathematics AdjunctSalary: $5,000 - $6,000 per 5 credit classClassification: Adjunct FacultyReports to: Dean of Mathematics, Engineering, Science, and Health This recruitment is to establish an applicant pool for future vacancies. Individuals will be contacted as vacancies occur. Olympic College is continuously recruiting for Mathematics Adjunct Faculty to teach introductory and advanced mathematics, part-time at all of its campuses. This position reports to the Dean of Mathematics, Engineering, Science, and Health (MESH). Part-time positions at the college are open continuous and reviewed on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Individuals who apply to the applicant pool are considered active for 12 months from the application date and may be contacted when vacancies occur. Prepare and teach developmental and/or college-level Mathematics course(s)Provide high quality, enthusiastic instruction including related preparation and gradingProvide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes and to the division office as requestedMaintain accurate records of students and complete forms and records as requiredMaintain a flexible schedule to accommodate evening instructionMay include teaching at the Bremerton, Poulsbo, and Shelton CampusesMaintain clear and punctual communication with students, faculty, and staff. Perform other related duties as assigned and/or requiredQualifications

Minimum QualificationsMaster's degree in Mathematics required.Related Master's degree with substantial graduate level Mathematics course work may be considered. Computer skills including Microsoft applications.
Preferred QualificationsSuccessful experience teaching Mathematics at a College or UniversityExperience with Learning Management System software such as Canvas Successful Applicants willEffectively teach and communicate the principles of mathematics form arithmetic through differential equationsDemonstrate knowledge of alternative teaching methods, including the use of technology in instructionDemonstrate knowledge of practical applications of mathDemonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in the classroom and with other professionalsCollaborate successfully with colleagues, staff, and students as part of an educational team.Effectively work with individuals that are disadvantaged and disabledDemonstrate success working with individuals and groups representing a wide range of diverse cultural, geographic, and socio-economic backgroundsDemonstrate strong interpersonal skillsPossess excellent customer service skills; including building and maintaining internal/external customer satisfactionDemonstrate an appreciation of diversity and the benefits of a commitment to cultural awareness and sensitivity in the workplaceDemonstrate an understanding of and a commitment to the Olympic College mission, vision, and valuesDemonstrate ethics, integrity, and sound professional judgementAdditional Information

Terms of Employment

Faculty members must submit official, unopened transcripts to the Human Resources department within 30 days of their employment.
This is an adjunct faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis. Placement on the faculty salary schedule will be commensurate with educational background and experience. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Association for Higher Education (AHE). Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the department. Evening and/or weekend classes, instruction at satellite Olympic College campuses, and off-campus assignments including travel to clinical sites may be a part of the instructional load. Part-time positions at the college are open continuously and reviewed on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Individuals who apply to the applicant pool are considered active for a period of 12 months from the application date and may be contacted when vacancies occur. Your salary placement will be dependent on your education (official transcripts must be submitted upon hire) and qualifications.
