The Systems Engineering (SE) Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE).


The Land Warfare and Missile Defense Systems (LWMDS) is looking for an exceptional Systems Engineer II to join our department. We lead all aspects of Systems Engineering that facilitate the development of complex systems to support various Raytheon programs around the world. The LWMDS department supports Raytheon by cultivating a world-class group of systems thinkers who work together as a team to architect technical solutions to some of the world's toughest challenges. Key technical domains include Radar Systems and Sensor Netting, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communications, Network Design, Battlespace Integration, and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers.

This is an Onsite role in Huntsville, Alabama

What You will Do :

  • You will be responsible for conducting trade studies, developing requirements, updating and maintaining systems products, performing analysis, and occasionally collaborating with other stakeholders such as customers and engineers from outside of Raytheon
  • You will be responsible for the development and verification of systems requirements by applying solid Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes
  • You will focus on Test Case traceability

Qualifications You Must Have :

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and two (2) years or more of documented Engineering work and/or academic experience in the following areas:
    • Experience with Missile Defense Systems or other related systems engineering experience
    • Experience applying MBSE processes and Test Case traceability
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer :

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, or Math
  • Experience with Integrated Air and Missile Defense systems including radar, interceptor, Command and Control systems
  • Experience using DOORs
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external customers

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
