Responsibilities * An integral member of the healthcare team, coordinates patient care and communicates and collaborates extensively with the other members of the healthcare team, patients and/or patient's family/guardian. * Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics. * Provides patient and family education relative to nursing/medical and clinical services. * Consults with medical specialists associated with patient's current treatment and/or treatment history. * Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment to patients admitted to the program. * Perform nursing histories and physical assessments. * Facilitate patient and families in meeting their psychosocial needs. * Provide medication evaluations and management in collaboration with the program's Medical Director/Psychiatrist. * Administer medication to patients as prescribed. * Annual certification in the Handle With Care behavior management system. Qualifications * A current CPR/BLS card with demonstrated and cognitive skills is required. * Must possess a Master's Degree and must have current and valid Nurse Practitioner or Advanced Practice Nurse license. * At least one year experience of providing direct patient care. * Must have prescriptive authority.
