UF Health Leesburg Hospital has been serving the health care needs of our community for 58 years. The hospital offers advanced cardiac care including one of the largest cardiothoracic surgery programs in the state. The American College of Cardiology has recognized UF Health Leesburg Hospital for its demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients with chest pain by awarding a Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primary PCI and Resuscitation its highest and best level of accreditation. UF Health Leesburg Hospital also offers advanced orthopedic surgery, stroke care, emergency services as well as labor and delivery care.
The hospital is part of UF Health Central Florida, a not-for-profit health care system and the largest most comprehensive provider of health care services in the region. UF Health Central Florida provides inpatient acute hospital services at UF Health Leesburg Hospital and UF Health The Villages Hospital, inpatient rehabilitation services at UF Health Rehab Hospital The Villages and diagnostic laboratory services at several locations. What is great about working on this unit?
This unit is fast-paced cardiac unit with team members who pride themselves with ownership of their team and patient experience. The team works very well together to advocate for their patients and to provide safe and efficient care. The Cardiac Medical Unit staff is a well-balanced blend of seasoned and newer nurses, nursing assistants and secretaries who collaborate and support each other in their daily work. They are led by a Nurse Leader who is experienced as a cardiac nurse and nursing supervisor. She engages the team by having fun competitions around their quality metrics. Reward and recognition is also what makes the competitions fun She and the team are supported by a Nursing Director who has 39 years in healthcare and 18 years in Nursing Leadership. There are also 4 Charge RNs on day shift and 3 Charge RNs on night shift to support the team in their daily work and provide leadership at the point of care. Under the direction of the unit director, the RN is responsible for the care and safety of the patient. This is a Full Time, night shift position and is eligible for a sign-on bonus. The ideal candidate will have previous Cardiac experience and drip experience is a huge plus.
Qualifications
Education:
- Diploma/Associates Degree
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Florida Registered Nurse License
- BLS
- ACLS
Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required:
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Previous Cardiac and Drip experience preferred
