_The Correctional Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing nursing care to inmates within a correctional facility. The LPN will with others to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compassionate, and safe patient care in accordance with established protocols and standards._

* *Patient Care:* Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, wound care, vital signs monitoring, and other interventions as needed.
* *Assessment:* Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ health status, documenting and reporting findings to the supervisor.
* *Treatment Plans:* Assist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on patients' medical needs and conditions.
* *Health Education:* Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and self-care practices.
* *Emergency Response:* Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the facility, providing necessary care until the arrival of additional medical personnel.
* *Collaboration:* Work collaboratively with the healthcare team, correctional staff, and other relevant personnel to ensure a cohesive and supportive care environment.
* *Documentation:* Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, treatment plans, and medical histories in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
* *Compliance:* Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, facility policies, and accreditation standards related to correctional healthcare.
* *Infection Control:* Adhere to infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infectious diseases within the facility.
* *Professional Development:* Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to maintain nursing competency and stay updated on best practices in correctional healthcare.

*Qualifications:*
* Graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN program.
* Current and valid LPN/LVN license in the state of NM.
* Previous experience in a correctional, psychiatric, or acute care setting preferred.
* Strong clinical skills, including medication administration, wound care, and patient assessment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a challenging and high-stress environment.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
* Must be able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
