*As a Surgery Scheduler, you’ll get to:*
* Schedule, coordinate, and reschedule surgeries.
* Communicate necessary information to patients, staff, and physicians.
* Verify necessary information and records information in patient's medical record.
* Obtain benefit information, prior authorization and collects surgical pre-payments.
* Coordinate necessary equipment, surgical assists, and anesthesia relative to surgeries.
* Maintain and update physician's calendars.
* Answer telephone, screens calls, clears voicemail, returns patient calls in a timely manner.
* Answer questions regarding patient's upcoming surgeries.
* Update patient information.
* Prepare surgical packet materials.
* Assist in training and orienting of new staff.

*Your experience should include:*
* Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Understand/Perform training on practice management software.
* Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur.
* High school diploma or GED.
* Minimum 1-year experience of medical scheduling.
* Preferred 2 years of experience in surgery scheduling
