We focus on diagnosing, treating and managing a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders.
*Job Summary:*
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our gastroenterologists to provide comprehensive care to our patients, including diagnosing and managing gastrointestinal conditions.
*Key Responsibilities:*
Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations.
Diagnose and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests; including lab work and imaging studies
Collaborate with gastroenterologists to develop and implement treatment plans
Provide patient education and counseling on managing gastrointestinal conditions and preventative care.
Prescribe medications and therapies as appropriate.
Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the electronic health record (EHR)
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current with best practices in gastroenterology.
Assist with inpatient rounds and consults as needed.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
*Qualifications:*
Current and valid NP or PA license in the state of New York.
Certification from a recognized NP or PA accrediting body (e.g. AANP, ANCC, NCCPA)
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
