What You Will Do

  • Develop containerized applications and DevOps utilities for a cutting-edge satellite ground system.

  • Work with talented teams of engineers, architects, and leaders in an Agile environment.

What You Will Learn

  • Modern DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques.

  • Software lifecycle practices for large-scale defense projects.

  • Satellite ground system technologies including command & telemetry, flight dynamics, planning and scheduling, and spacecraft operations.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of relevant software engineering experience.

  • Experience with Java or C/C++.

  • Experience with Groovy, Python, or Ruby.

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experience with Linux and Git administration.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued SCI security clearance is also required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • CompTIA Security+ certification.

  • Experience building container images and helm charts from scratch and deploying to Kubernetes.

  • Experience with Java and Groovy programming.

  • Kubernetes debugging skills.

  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).

  • Docker Certified Associate (DCA).

  • Experience with Test Automation, DevSecOps, and CI/CD processes.

  • Experience working with a large-scale legacy software system.

  • Experience with tools such as Confluence, Eclipse, Jira, Jenkins, Junit, Kafka, and Spring Boot.

  • This software engineering position is onsite at our Aurora, CO location.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
