The Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the Penn State College of Medicine, Penn State Health, is seeking a fellowship trained Microvascular Head and Neck Oncologic Surgeon to join our growing faculty. The ideal individual will have a solid technical background, an interest in continued academic and professional growth and an ability to work well and collegially in an interdisciplinary team.

Position Highlights:

  • Join a division of 4 head and neck surgeons and department of 14 full-time physicians, 13 advanced practice providers, 9 audiologists and 22 speech-language pathologists
  • Division sees over 500 new cancer patients per year and performs 40-60 free flaps and 20-30 pedicled flaps on average per year
  • Strong referral base from Lancaster, Reading, Lebanon Veterans Hospital, Gettysburg, and Harrisburg
  • Growing clinical trial portfolio with 5 co-op trials currently open with 3 trials in the pipeline
  • Fleet of da Vinci robots at Hershey including da Vinci SP
  • Collaborative care with neurosurgery, dermatology and Mohs surgeons, plastic surgery, oculoplastic surgery, medical oncology and radiation oncology
  • Participation in medical student, resident and fellow education
  • Appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor level, dependent on qualifications

Compensation and Benefits:

Position Requirements

  • M.D., M.D./Ph.D., D.O., or equivalent degree
  • BC/BE Otolaryngology and completion of a Head and Neck fellowship
  • Experience treating a wide spectrum of head and neck surgical oncology including training in microvascular reconstruction
  • Ability to acquire license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania
  • Must be able to obtain valid federal and state narcotics certificates
