Description

The outpatient infusion nurse has knowledge of Oncology, chemotherapy administration, side effects, infusion therapy, blood product administration, pain management, knowledge and skills with port-a-caths and all venous access devices. The infusion nurse applies the nursing process in direct patient care and coordinates the interdisciplinary team to intervene according to assessment findings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Nursing degree/diploma.
  • Texas Registered Nurse License upon hire or New Mexico Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Chemotherapy administration experience
  • Coursework/Training: 12 cancer-related CE's after hire or OCN certification after hire
  • 1 year of Nursing
  • 1 year of Oncology experience
