Position Summary

The ELC Site Supervisor assists the Director in all areas, and the staff in appropriate areas. Oversees early learning services, and is accountable for all supervisory and operational responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supports Director and staff in all areas of care and education of children. Assume Director’s responsibilities in the Director’s absence.
2. Effectively deals with parent and staff complaints/concerns. Maintains parent and child confidentiality.
3. Conducts regular observations and develop plan of actions, if needed, to ensure the quality of care for children.
4. Ensures that program promotes the development of each child’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive development in a nurturing environment.
5. Ensure safety and supervision of children at all times.
6. Substitute in classrooms as needed and provides tours for interested parents.
7. Handles operational responsibilities as assigned.
8. Promotes professional growth and development of employees.
9. Assists in fostering improvement, teamwork, high performance and quality.
10. Participates in intra-departmental and inter-departmental efforts at Continuous Quality Improvement.
11. Identifies opportunities for improving operating efficiencies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
Experience: Minimum of five years professional childcare experience required. Minimum of two years in a supervisory or leadership position required.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: CPR/First Aid certification required. Washington State (DOH) Food Handler’s card required. STARS certifications required. Required to complete a TB Test every year as well as BBP/HIV training.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $21.65 - $30.31 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
