The maintenance supervisor is primarily responsible for directing the overall maintenance activities to support the achievement of production objectives at the most competitive cost and consistent with the company quality standards and customer delivery requirements. This individual will perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement functions on plant equipment and machinery with little direction and guidance; and must be self-proficient. Areas of responsibility will include all facets of the production environment as well as the facility's maintenance, HVAC, hydraulics, and electrical work. They supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing the production equipment of the CPT facility, in addition to supervising the coordination and completion of maintenance projects. As a people leader, they support a positive culture, build strong relationships, and provide ongoing feedback. They exemplify integrity, collaboration, and accountability.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directs workers engaged in operation equipment and building maintenance activities. Determines work priorities and schedules repairs, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment.

Troubleshoot and repair CNC lathes, mills, hobbing equipment, saws, etc.

Responsible for preventative maintenance schedules and for ensuring work is completed timely to accommodate production needs. Inspects completed work for conformance to requirements, specifications, and standards.

Adherence to LOTO procedures.

Fabricate and implement tooling and fixturing

Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies.

Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.

Establishes or adjusts maintenance work procedures to meet production schedules.

Maintains time and production records.

Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.

Performs activities of workers supervised.

Ability to work in a team-centered atmosphere; hires, coaches, and develops new associates.

Initiates, coordinates, and ensures operational and personnel policies and procedures are followed.

Perform other duties as assigned.


COMPETENCIES:

Advanced multi-tasking and troubleshooting skills.

Knowledge of manufacturing technology products, CNC machining technology, assemblies, and facilities/building maintenance and equipment.

Knowledge of practices used in CNC and mechanical machine diagnostics and repair, as well as building, electrical, or mechanical trades required

Must be able to read and understand diagrams, schematics, engineering prints, and manuals for mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Must possess basic fabrication techniques that would be used in machine repair.

Must be able to use electrical test equipment to identify, analyze, and resolve electrical problems.

Must possess a strong hands-on attitude and knowledge of electrical, electronic, PLC controls, and computerized components of CNC and manual machines.

PLC troubleshooting and reading

Welding and use of cutting torches

Ability to perform light fabrication

Ability to read ladder logic

CNC programming and operation


QUALIFICATIONS:


Education/Experience

Five years prior experience required in the installation, maintenance, and the repair of machines and equipment. Two-year associate in machine maintenance and repair or equivalent experience.

Post-high school education/training in electronics

1+ credit welding post-high school a plus

Post-high school formal training in fabrication a plus

Specific knowledge of Fanuc controls and Haas is desired.

Extensive electrical troubleshooting experience

Certified electrician a plus

Prior work experience in, paper machines, CNCs, printing presses and/or other manufacturing processing machines a plus.

Computer literate in Windows

Basic+ welding knowledge

Forklift operating certification a plus


Licenses/Credentials/Certifications

Valid Driver's license with no minor moving violations within the most recent 36-month period and no major violations or suspensions in the most recent 60-month period.
