Our client in Amenia, NY is seeking a Material Handler to join their team. As a Material Handler, you will be part of the lumber yard team supporting the yard, retail store and customer needs. The ideal candidate will have forklift, shipping/receiving and loading / unloading skills which will align successfully in the organization. 

Job Title: Material Handler / Lumber Yard Worker

Location:  Amenia, NY

Pay Range: $17.00/hr

Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:00pm and some Saturday's from 8:00am-4:00pm (Rotating)

 

What’s the Job?

  • Responsible for managing and distributing lumber within the yard while using a forklift
  • Perform physical tasks, such as carrying lumber and handling company inventory
  • Pile boards based on specific sizes, trim, and saw size
  • Compile and record daily production data
  • Educate customers on product offerings, helping them select suitable lumber products 

What’s Needed?

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs at times
  • Some customer service skills to deal with the retail public
  • Pallet jack and forklift experience required
  • Retail knowledge a plus but not necessary
