Aya Locums has an immediate opening for the following position: Locum Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) in Salem, VA - $185.00 to $200.00

Contract Length: 4-6 months

Shift Details: Shifts will be 8 hours (7A-3P), 10 hours (7A-5P), and 12 hours (7A-7P). CRNA will typically receive a morning or afternoon break and a lunch break (typically between cases and covered by the anesthesiologist or another CRNA who is in between cases. Coordinated efforts is expected between CRNA and anesthesiologist to adequately utilize time in-between cases when possible for breaks and lunches.

Schedule: We only need weekday daytime coverage. No night shifts, weekends, or call coverage is needed

Work Details:

Support Staff: RN s, Certified Surgical Technologists, and a limited number of Licensed Surgical Assistants. No APP s except those employed by physician practices

Patients per day: On average, 25-35 cases per day in the OR

Department Description: Level II in process; case types: DaVinci robotics, total joints, general surgery, GYN, breast, plastics, pain management, urology, ENT, pediatric dental, anesthesia also covers L&D. Also CVOR which some CRNA s cover if so trained.

EMR: No other EMR other than Meditech. We chart with paper anesthesia records

Hospital Bed size: 11 + 2 cardiac OR s

Skills Required: Standard type cases (gen Surg, Endo, gyn, ortho, spine, robotics, uro, OB). Spinal experience is preferred, but no required. No cardiac, epidural or peripheral nerve block experience is necessary

Board Certification: National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)

License Required: VA license required

Minimum Experience Required: We will accept recent graduates. All these cases will be medical direction with an anesthesiologist
