*Overview:*
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be an integral part of the healthcare team, providing specialized care to critically ill surgical patients. Your primary responsibility will be to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. You will work in a fast-paced environment where quick thinking and effective communication are essential for delivering optimal patient outcomes.

*Responsibilities of RN - Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU):*
* Conduct thorough assessments of patients upon admission to the SICU and throughout their stay.
* Monitor vital signs, neurological status, and hemodynamic parameters closely.
* Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, utilizing critical thinking skills and clinical judgment.
* Develop individualized care plans based on assessment data, patient history, and physician orders.
* Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians.
* Provide comprehensive nursing care, including wound care, ventilator management, and pain management.
* Assist with diagnostic procedures and surgical interventions as needed.
* Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare team members to optimize patient care.
* Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and emotional support.
* Document all patient care activities accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record.
* Advocate for patients' rights, preferences, and needs throughout their hospitalization.
* Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring clear communication and understanding.
* Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families during times of stress and uncertainty.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and safety.
* Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
* Stay informed about advances in critical care nursing practices and incorporate evidence-based interventions into clinical practice

*Qualifications/ Requirements of Registered Nurse - SICU :*
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Surgical ICU or ICU setting
- Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of New York
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Minimum Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (AAS) required.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $75.00 - $82.00 per hour
