Overview: THIS IS A TEMPORARY, HOURLY AS NEEDED POSITION WITHOUT PERMANENT STATUS.
This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill part-time, temporary, hourly assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. You will be contacted by the hiring manager should the department/division be interested in scheduling an interview.
Minimum Qualifications: A. The minimum of one of the following awarded/conferred from a regionally accredited institution:
- Bachelor's degree or higher AND two (2) years of professional experience; OR
- Any associate's degree AND six (6) years of professional experience; OR
- The equivalent (must request an equivalency review in the application), OR
- California Community College credential, "Valid for Life" (no longer issued), authorizing service as an instructor in the appropriate discipline; refer to Ed Code 87355 (If meeting qualifications with this credential, a copy of the valid lifetime credential must be submitted with the application.);
B. Commitment to the community college goals/objectives of providing quality programs and services for students with diverse abilities and interests; personal qualities to work effectively and sensitively in a multicultural environment; awareness and commitment to the special needs of non-traditional students.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Technical Skills: Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and InVision.
Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
2. Research and Development: Active involvement in current UI/UX and web design trends.
Participation in professional design organizations and conferences.
3. User-Centered Design: Strong focus on user-centered design principles and methodologies.
Experience in conducting user research and usability testing.
Ability to analyze user feedback and data to refine designs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Teach ARTC 200 - UI/UX and Web Design
Topics include: UI/UX design principles, Accessibility guidelines and compliance, Wireframes, Prototypes, Testing, HTML, CSS, Frameworks, Website builders, Multimedia integration
2. Teach ARTC 230 - UI/UX and Web Design II
Topics include: Responsive web design, Mobile web and app design, JavaScript and jQuery, Web animation, Server-side scripting and PHP integration, Databases, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Social Media Marketing (SMM), Reporting and analytics
Equivalencies: Candidates not holding the stated required qualifications who are requesting consideration based on an equivalency will need to answer the equivalency questions included in the application.
