General Summary of Position Unit Highlights Nurses on Unit 2E (Cardiac and Stroke) treat and care for a variety of patients with complex medical diagnoses including stroke, transplant, and heart failure as well as cardiac and orthopedic post-surgical patients. This 40-bed unit provides unique opportunities to include caring for patients with specialized needs including tracheostomies, peritoneal dialysis, and mechanical circulatory support. Cardiac and stroke rehabilitation include aggressive physical, occupational, and speech therapies as well as emotional and psychological support to help patients reach their maximum mobility and cognitive goals. As a rehab Nurse on 2 East, we take pride in collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to conduct individualized plans of care and facilitate a safe place where patients are encouraged and supported through their new lifestyle changes.
