Overview:

Kings Dominion is looking for a summertime associate to assist with developing engaging content for the park’s digital marketing channels, including the website, mobile app and social media channels Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and X.


Responsibilities:

The goals of this position are to:

  • Be proactive with photo and video content creation and use various multimedia equipment such as GoPro and DSLR cameras
  • Assist with park initiatives including in-park events, media events, and remote activations
  • Assist with design of social media graphics
  • Support the park’s Public Relations and Marketing initiatives by aligning their content and messaging with PR and marketing goals.
  • Provide administrative support to the Marketing and Brand Management teams
  • Accomplish all other related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Personality to interact with park guests daily in a positive manner.
  • Creative and curious with an eye for design details. Courageous enough try to new things and flexible enough to respond and accept feedback from peers and supervisors and adjust.
  • Can articulate a coherent thought orally and via written text.
  • Enjoys working both as a team member and independently.
  • Can organize yourself to handle multiple tasks and projects daily.
  • Experience in vertical short-form video content creation such as you might see on TikTok or Instagram Reels
  • Photography and videography skills of any sort, along with experience using GoPro and DSLR cameras.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with graphic design and the use of Canva, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Experience with social media platforms Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and X
  • Guest service oriented - enjoys interacting with guests, co-workers, partners, and media
  • Proven ability to problem solve and work with strict deadlines
  • Is okay with flexible, constantly changing goals and objectives.
  • Driven to achieve objectives, results and company goals
  • Portfolio of recent work is an asset, but not requirement.

Hours for this position will vary and be flexible. Ideal availability is Monday to Saturday from 11am-7pm. However, position will need to work some extended evenings/nights, be available most weekends, and able to work during holidays for the duration of the operating season.

 

Required:

· Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.

· Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.

· Valid Driver's License
