Job Description You make a difference in the lives of others.  As a mental health professional you help improve quality of life, ease the mind of stress, and lift the spirit with each patient encounter.  At Southern Health Partners our medical team experiences the entire range of patient situations from detox to restorative progress, medical emergencies, chronic care management, mental health and well-being, all while educating the patient on how to move forward and continue to improve their overall health even after their release.  With such a diverse patient population we are always seeking diversity in the team members we welcome to the SHP family.      Qualified Mental Health Professionals will:  Work closely with SHP Medical Director and/or SHP Medical Team Administrator to coordinate mental health treatment within the facility, as well as outside the facility.  Provide mental health in-service training to the medical, psychiatric and security staffs, as needed, and/or requested.  Intervenes and defuses mental health emergencies within the facility.  Attend commitment hearings, if needed (or per SHP contract with facility). Develop treatment plans and goals for individual inmates. Document all patient contacts. Maintain confidentiality of medical records. Verify past patient mental health history, including verification of any psychotropic medications used. Prepare regularly scheduled reports and special reports as necessary. Work with nursing and mental health staff for post-release referral.    Location: VanZandt County Jail Open Position: RN Psych, Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor  Schedule: One day a week - 7hrs/ Flexible Schedule    Growth: New to corrections?  We want you to find your new home with the SHP Family and to see you grow and develop your skills for many years to come.
