A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DIESEL MECHANIC

As a Diesel Mechanic, your day revolves around troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and gas and diesel engines, ensuring their proper functionality. You prioritize keeping workstations clean and organized, both indoors and outdoors. While performing service calls, you also maintain clean and working service trucks. Effective communication with customers, the Service Supervisor, and the parts department is crucial to ensure customers are updated on the status and location of repairs needed and parts are ordered and received promptly. Diesel Mechanics prioritize safety standards while completing assigned tasks efficiently. Additionally, you maintain accurate records, including parts ordered and equipment repair hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

A valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
Mechanical experience, including previous experience working with DC voltage controls, hydraulics, and gas and diesel engines
The willingness to work indoors and outdoors in all seasons

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Lift up to 75 lbs.
Stand and walk for the duration of your shift
Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
