This is a Collective Bargaining Unit Position.
The Registered Nurse provides care within the scope of the State of Ohio Practice Act. Accountable for the delivery of nursing care utilizing the nursing process, evidence-based standards policies, procedures and guidelines of the organization. The Registered Nurse will incorporate the American Nursing Association Code of Ethics in daily practice.
Essential Job Functions
Responsible for managing the nursing care of the patient within the PACU/Neuromodulation Department and cooperating with coordinating the needs of the procedure team with other care providers necessary for completion of the procedure.
Observes the procedure and procedure team from a broad perspective and assists the team to create and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the patient.
Provides pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure care, including assessment and discharge instructions.
Assess the patient’s condition before, during, and after the procedure to ensure an optimal outcome for the patient
Participate in the safe management of the milieu, intervening effectively with patients who behave inappropriately or who are having difficulty coping, utilizing effective CPI techniques.
Displays a curiosity and desire for knowledge and staying current with the health care industry. Seeks and participates in learning opportunities that meet personal and departmental goals.
Develops quarterly and annual personalized professional goals in conjunction with direct supervisor.
Skills
Assess patients with significant deficits in biological, emotional, cognitive and behavioral systems.
Performs comprehensive assessment of patient's clinical condition and psychosocial needs of the patient and their supportive resources.
Safely and efficiently develops, implements, and prioritizes plan of care.
Application of the nursing process in patient care delivery.
Assesses patient's physical and emotional responses to treatment to evaluate effectiveness of intervention and patient outcomes, revises plan of care accordingly.
Assists patient and family in coping with patient's illness.
Applies cultural diversity and inclusion principles when caring for patients and their support resources.
Recognizes own limitations and seeks assistance and acquires information to perform safely.
Advances personal and professional growth through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-services, and workshops.
Exhibits professionalism through accountability for own and delegated actions.
Integrates cost-effective measures into practice and models effective stewardship of available resources.

Licensing/Certification
Current RN License in the state in which they are working or covered by compact (required)
BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred)
2 years of PACU or Critical Care experience
Required Job Specific Training
Annual PACU competency (cosigned by Surgical Services)
Epic Electronic Health Record Training
De-escalation training within 90 days of hire
Psych specific Workday modules
