Job Description

A community services organization in New York City is actively seeking a new Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team at one of their methadone clinics in Manhattan. In this role, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be responsible for dispensing medication to patients with opioid use disorder and actively participating with the interdisciplinary treatment team in the provision of medical and clinical services.


About the Opportunity:

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Assignment Length: On going
  • Schedule: Part Time (16 hours per week)
  • Hours: Mondays and Wednesdays 7:30am to 1pm; Fridays 6:30pm to 1pm
  • Patient Population: Adults (18+ year olds)
  • EMR: TenEleven ECR

Responsibilities:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will:

  • Dispense and administers prescribed medication; maintains accountability, adequate record keeping, and documentation
  • Assess and verification of last methadone dose for patients returning from the hospital, detox, etc.
  • Carry out MD/PA orders and assist during crisis, emergencies, and other procedures
  • Work collaboratively with Physician, Director, and other staff as part of the treatment team
  • Participate in clinic meetings and interdisciplinary case conferences with clinical staff
  • Assist in coordination of medication deliveries for appropriate patients, as indicated
  • Assess patients and provide patient care within scope of practice.
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 6 months of experience in a Substance Abuse Services environment
  • Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
  • NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) - required

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working in a Methadone clinic and/or similar setting
