*Purpose of Position:*

Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes.

*Educational Requirements:*
* High school graduate or GED equivalent.
* Completed related studies program preferred, not required.

*Experience and Background:*
* Two years of electrical maintenance experience.
* Experience working in remote arctic environment preferred.
* Skills in locating and correcting defects in electrical systems, components and equipment.
* Team player with good customer service, communication skills and very safe work ethics.
* Must be able to read and interpret instructions & manuals.
* Have a commitment to excellence – identify what needs to be done and take action to achieve a standard of excellence beyond job expectations.

*Certificates, Licenses and Requirements: *
* State of Alaska Electrical Journeyman Certificate of Fitness
* Valid Driver License that meets ICE Services insurance criteria for driving.
* North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) Card – preferred, not required.
* Must pass a pre-hire drug test, breath alcohol test, occupational fitness test, criminal background check and computer-based testing.
* Be at least 18 years of age.
* Ability to lift & carry 65 pounds on regular basis, routine walking, standing, bending. There is a lack of immediate access to critical medical services as well as urban community services.
* Rotational schedule of at least 11.50 hours per day for a minimum of 21 days consecutively as required.

*Essential Functions:*

* Maintain and repair electrical systems as assigned.
* Install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment.
* Check and maintain fire alarms in facilities and buildings.
* Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken wires and cables.
* Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches and motors.
* Observe safety standards and regulations.
* Attend training to maintain and/or improve certifications and skills.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
