The Department of Chemistry in the Gupta College of Science at Coastal Carolina University ( ) invites applications for a lecturer position beginning Fall 2025. The Department of Chemistry is home to approximately 85 undergraduate majors and three degrees: Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Chemistry Education. As a department, we focus on our commitment to student success and are seeking a proficient teacher who is dedicated to the undergraduate experience. The successful candidate must be able to teach lower-level chemistry lectures and labs (Chem 111 and Chem 112). The position carries a 5/5 teaching load and is a renewable 9-month appointment with ability to work toward promotion to senior lecturer and then principal lecturer. Applicants must, at a minimum, have earned a M.S. in Chemistry but preference will be given to someone with a Ph.D. in Chemistry or closely related fields.The Gupta College of Science works to provide a premier and experience-driven STEM education to all of its students. The college's approach weaves together a strong liberal arts core, engaged STEM pedagogy, and high-impact practices associated with experiential learning to provide the highest quality STEM education possible. As one of the largest colleges at the University, the Gupta College of Science offers an impressive array of 13 distinctive undergraduate degree programs, 15 focused concentrations, and 18 minors along with two master's degree programs and one doctoral program.
