WellSky is seeking a Software Engineer III - DevOps to join our team. In this role one will create, maintain, and troubleshoot the IBM i Development, QA, Staging, and Production environments. This role will be responsible for quarterly security patches, product releases through the environments, and operational performance.

A day in the life

You will be responsible for the following:

Deploy new versions of the product to production using automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines)
Apply quarterly security patches to all IBM i servers
Monitor operational performance of the IBM i Products
Monitor capacity/infrastructure to forecast needs of the business
Troubleshoot and maintain Development, QA, Staging, and Production system configurations
Develop and maintain design and troubleshooting documentation
Troubleshoot performance production issues and coordinate with the development team to streamline code deployment
Dynamic schedule – must be able to work nights/weekends
Responsibilities also include close collaboration with software developers on the product teams, operations staff, and other IT staff members to manage code releases

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field
Minimum 2-4 years related work experience
Experience with the following technologies:
IBM i Operating System
IBM i, iSeries, AS/400 System Administration experience
IBM Power Server

Preferred Qualifications:

You possess a problem-solving attitude
Experience as a DevOps Engineer or equivalent software-engineering role.
Experience in network, server, and application-status monitoring
Proven ability to work as part of an Agile software development team and understands the SDLC process.
Ability to coach others, ensure processes and procedures are up to date and followed
Continuous Delivery/Integration: Rocket LMi, Azure DevOps
Application Development/Coding/Scripting Experience: SQL, Powershell
Hardware Management Console (HMC) configuration and support
SAN replication methods (IBM FSFC) configuration and support
Data replication configuration and support (PowerHA, MIMIX, etc.)
Experience in software development lifecycle automation(DevOps) for IBM i
SQL & DB performance monitoring & tuning - utilizing tools like iDoctor
RPG Application development coding – General Understanding
CL coding (develop and support)
Familiarity with Jira/Confluence
