Registered Nurse Cardiac Rehab

The Cardiac Registered Nurse provides outstanding customer service to patients, providers and clinical teams with the primary task of planning, implementing and supervising exercise sessions as ordered by the physician. The following job duties are performed: * Presents a professional, welcoming, supportive, and calm demeanor during all aspects of interactions with patients * Responsible for the initial assessment and orientation of the patient and collaborates in the development of the plan of care for the patient * Assesses patients before, during and after exercise; makes appropriate referrals and/or recommendations to the patient, other staff and Medical Director. * Supervises and monitors patients for inappropriate responses to exercise * Promptly reports any significant patient conditions to supervising physician. Initiates ACLS measures and/or emergency care according to hospital policy. * Charts and documents all assessments, daily patient information and progress accurately and promptly * Check all equipment and supplies for proper function and adequate supply on a regular basis; ensures emergency equipment is operational at all times. * Maintain a working knowledge of the Cardiac Rehabilitation field * Maintains work area in a constant state of readiness * Reflect the nursing process through an integration of knowledge, skills, experience and attitude needed to meet the needs of patients and families. * Follows all facility policies, procedures and protocols Performs other various tasks as directed related to diagnostic imaging. Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with ADN degree. Experience: Minimum two (2) years of experience in coronary care, progressive care, critical care, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation or related field of cardiac nursing. Prefer previous cardiac rehabilitation experience License / Certificates: * Current State of Florida license for Registered Nurse * BLS and ACLS certification Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Effective oral and written communication skills Ability to perform in a fast paced and/or stressful environment.
