Job Summary The Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering () at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Mechanical Engineering. Applicants will be considered at all ranks, and in any of the School's research areas (Acoustics/Dynamics, AI and Informatics, Automation, Robotics and Control, Bioengineering, CAE and Design, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Combustion, and Energy Systems, Manufacturing, Mechanics of Materials, Micro and Nano Engineering, and Tribology). Emphasis on interdisciplinary activities in System engineering and Design , Thermal Systems, and Intelligent Systems (AI/ML/controls/Robotics) is desirable. Applicants with expertise in quantum-related research, semiconductor manufacturing, and/or manufacturing of microelectronics and packaging are especially encouraged to apply.
Those applying for positions at the Associate and Full Professor rank should have established records in research that demonstrate nationally and internationally recognized expertise. We welcome individuals with distinctive work experiences, including individuals from academic, industry, and governmental labs. A demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for underrepresented students through teaching and mentoring is desired. Candidates are expected to teach and mentor a distinct student body.
Responsibilities Along with undergraduate and graduate teaching, each position requires a balance of research and service responsibilities. Candidates are expected to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to the teaching and mentoring of students.
