Position Summary:

Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. The primary purpose of the RNFA position is to assist the surgeon and team in operative procedures.  The role also performs pre-operative procedures such as selection and placement of appropriate surgical instruments, supplies and equipment; to scrub and provide instruments, sutures and other sterile supplies during surgical procedures.  

Reports to: Clinical Nurse Manager/Director

FLSA:  Non-exempt


Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education
x High school diploma or equivalent Required Drag Edit Delete Minimum Education

x Graduate of a Program in Discipline (First Assist) Required Drag Edit Delete Minimum Education
□ Bachelor's degree □ Preferred □ Required Drag Edit Delete Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Drag Edit Delete Required Skills
Certifications:
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required on hire.
National First Assist Certification preferred Drag Edit Delete Required Skills
Licenses: Arizona State RN licensure or compact RN license required on hire
