Phoenix, AZHybridFull Time$160k - $190kA company that is using AI to revolutionize cancer diagnostic and treatment plans is looking for a Senior Manager of DevOps to add to their growing team in Phoenix, AZ. The company has historically been on prem but were already embracing Terraform, Kubernetes, monitoring and automation. They recently began their journey to migrate some pieces of their infrastructure to AWS and as the Senior Manager of DevOps, you will act as a leader in support of their cloud and on prem infrastructure. This will involve collaborating with various teams to create policies, manage cloud migration projects and support daily operations in their lab, data science and software development teams. Due to the nature of their business, they deal with huge data sets of about 20 petabytes.
This role would provide an interesting opportunity to work on a large-scale cloud migration – while also contributing to a great cause. As the Senior Manager of DevOps, you will play a part in building out the team, mentoring and skilling up engineers, while also contributing to the overall architecture. Although it’s a leadership role, having recent hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes is going to be essential to success in the position.
This will be a hybrid position with some onsite work required in their local Tempe, AZ office.
Required Skills & Experience 7+ years of DevOps Engineering experience 3+ years of experience in a team lead or team management position Experience working in both AWS cloud based and on prem infrastructure Cloud migration experience Experience implementing DevOps principles such as CI/CD, IAC, and containerization Knowledge of relational databases (Amazon RDS, MySQL, Postgres, etc.) and scripting languages (Python or Go) Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or GitLab Strong experience with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code Recent experience with Kubernetes orchestration Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Desired Skills & Experience Experience in the Healthcare, Life Sciences, or Genomics industries Experience supporting high-performance compute (HPC) clusters Experience supporting AWS data services and pipelines like Athena, Glue, Lake Formation, and HealthOmics
