The role you’ll contribute: The Director of Clinical Operations has 24-hour accountability, authority and responsibility for operational management of Surgical Services for the Main OR. The Director fosters the integration of the organization’s vision and values and accomplishes the mission and strategic plan for Surgical Services through an accountable work team. As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the Director, under the guidance of the AVP of Surgical Services, collaborates with patients/customers, families, physicians, administration and associates to meet customer needs and expectations in a patient focused and healing environment.

The Director demonstrates leadership skills in assuring that appropriate care is carried out for the surgical patient population(s) in the operative environment. The Director is responsible for promoting teamwork with physicians and all members of the health care team. The Director is responsible for establishing the tone of the work environment and ensuring that all personnel are competent, adhere to all policies of the department and organization and adhere to all behavior standards of AdventHealth Tampa.

The Director will be directly responsible for the Main Operating Room. This will include the roll out of new initiatives, including operational, Surgeon and Staff satisfaction, partnering with the surgical business unit, surgical supply, anesthesia, quality metrics and reporting, staffing, hiring, etc. This position will be responsible for navigating all daily operational issues within the listed areas and will report directly to the AVP of Surgical Services. The director will also be ensuring all surgical staff within the designated areas are following updated processes to ensure patients receive efficient care. This will be done by providing timely reports to the AVP on a routine basis, collaboration with Surgical Governance, AVP of Surgical Services, C-Suite, etc. This position will require strong leadership skills as well as communication skills to be able to effectively communicate with all levels in the hospital and corporation.

· Demonstrate expertise in planning resources to respond to financial goals of Surgical Services and the organization to include analyzing financial statements trends.

· Partner with the Surgical business unit to create and manage operating and capital budgets to provide for departmental needs as directed by the AVP of Surgical Services.

· Partner with Surgical Supply to initiate activities to enhance revenues and support cost reduction and containment.

· Proactively monitor key performance indicators and make appropriate adjustments to processes.

· Plan, implement and evaluate schedules in accordance with patient needs.

· Leverage the strengths and skills of others in order to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

· Utilize work time effectively and adhere to established deadlines.

Communicate effectively and provide ongoing feedback to my staff, patients and the leadership team.

· Establish forms of communication to keep staff apprised of activities and practice changes.

· Attend all organizational meetings, in-services and mandatory training in order to remain aware of all activities and changes and provide information to my staff.

· Communicate well both verbally and in writing to clearly articulate and support opinions and conclusions.

· Resolve patient satisfaction concerns in a timely manner, ensuring that they have been thoroughly addressed and appropriate actions have occurred

· Develop and maintain a working relationship with members of the medical staff and associates of AdventHealth Tampa.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

· Cerner/Surginet

· Microsoft Office - Excel/Word/Outlook/Teams/PeopleSoft

· Past Leadership including experience in OR operations and OR Management

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:

· AORN, AAMI, standards.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school of nursing

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

· Up to 1 year of Position-Related Experience

· Master’s Degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or related field.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

· Florida Registered Nurse License

· CPR obtained through the American Heart Association

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

· CNOR
