This opportunity has a combination of clinical, administrative, educational, and research roles. Administratively, you will report to the Chief of Medicine and will serve as the primary supervisor of the Dermatology Section. Position Information:

This physician leader will be assigned to our Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, CO. As the Chief of Dermatology, you will oversee the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions of the skin, hair, nails, and mucus membranes. This is a general dermatology practice and has flexibility, depending on candidates interests, experience, and track record. We provide comprehensive dermatologic services including general dermatologic surgery, general dermatology, teledermatology, phototherapy, dermatopathology, allergic contact dermatitis, psoriasis, wound/ tissue repair, some laser procedures, and research time (if grant supported). As staff acquire new skill sets, we can expand services offered to include the likes of patch testing, Mohs, etc. You must qualify for an academic appointment at our affiliated university, University of Colorado (CU), Denver.

The ideal candidate must be a highly effective communicator, comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization, and able to successfully partner with facility leadership and other services. They should have a passion for maintaining the highest quality standards and developing a team for growth.

Requirements

  • Must be U.S. Citizen (Non-Citizen May Be Considered IAW VA Policy)
  • Must have current, active & unencumbered US State Medical License (any State)
  • Ideal candidate will be Board Certified in Dermatology
  • Ideal candidate will have 2-3+ years leadership experience

The Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center is a welcomed step forward in meeting the increased health care needs of today's Veteran population. This facility replacedthe Denver facility of 670,000 square feet with a new state of the art campus of approximately 1.2 million square feet on 31 acres, providing many new services to Veterans. The Aurora, Colorado location is located on the southeast corner of the former Fitzsimons Army Base just off Interstate 225, immediately west of RTD's light rail station and neighboring Children's Hospital and the University of Colorado Anschutz Health Care Campus. Additional Information:

Salary Range: $335,000 to $377,000 and includesbiennial longevity pay increases

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40hrs/wk; Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage of the dermatology consultation service in rotation with other staff Dermatologists.

Recruitment or Relocation Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Authorized

Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): Position Eligible

Performance Bonus: up to $15,000 or 7.5% (whichever is less) annually

Annual Paid Time Off: includes26 days of vacation with pay, 13 days sick leave, 11 federal holidays observed and CME

Retirement and 401k: Retirement Plans includes Federal Employee Retirement System (Pension Plan) and Thrift Savings Plan (401k) with 5% matching
