The Inpatient Speech Language Pathologist will join a team of tenured medical professionals at an award-winning Health System. This critical access hospital has 20+ beds and it has expert staff and state-of-the-art technology. This medical center has become an integral community health resource in this beautiful area. 

The Inpatient Speech Language Pathologist will work with a team of experienced Speech Pathologists and will collaborate with a large interdisciplinary team in order to help their patients improve and assist them on their road to recovery. 

The Inpatient Speech Language Pathologist will play an integral role in providing quality care and will work with a patient population with a wide variety of diagnoses. The Speech Pathology team will mainly focus on assessing patients who have difficulty swallowing or speaking. These patients may be on Acute Rehabilitation, Medical-Surgical or Intensive Care Units. The experienced Speech Therapist will help their patients' nurses and doctors assess the patient’s ability to safely swallow food and if there are any changes that need to be made to their diet and feeding care plans. The Speech Therapist will also supervise all muscle strengthening exercises and will be responsible for patient assessment, treatment planning and implementation of new activities. They will provide the patient and their family members with helpful tools needed for more effective communication techniques. They will encourage participation and provide guidance to both patients and staff when reviewing instructions. The Hospital Speech Language Pathologist will accurately document patient progress and report any changes to their health care team.
