*What you will do:*
* Develop a complete understanding of the basic operation of all instrumentation/equipment used according to SOP, department policies and procedures.
* Maintains correct patient ID throughout testing.
* Accesses, understands and adheres to procedure and policy manuals within department.
* Follows SOP for specimen collection/processing/storage/handling/reference lab testing.
* Acceptable CAP proficiency testing results (every year).
* Maintains and utilizes cross training skills.
* Precisely and accurately enters patient/QC results.
* Labels correctly (acceptable threshold is 1 exception).
* Participates in the quality management of the laboratory.
* Makes suggestions and provides feedback in a timely manner for issues and/or problems.
* Maintains strict confidentiality and security of information.
* Recognizes, appropriately resolves and documents in a timely fashion any QA issues.
* Understands lab specific monitors and Q.A. program and participates in the evaluation of specialized reports for QC, QA.
* Orders supplies or informs appropriate staff when stock is low.
* Utilizes the system to retrieve patient/test information.
* TAT meets threshold.

*Education & Licensure Requirements:*
* Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology *and **one of the following:*
* Current license from New York State Department of Education to practice as Cytotechnologist

*OR*
* Certified as a Cytotechnologist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and application submitted for New York State licensure

*OR*
* Licensed and in good standing in either California or Hawaii as a Cytotechnologist and application submitted for New York State licensure

*Compensation:*
* $31.50 - $43.06 per hour
* Sign on bonus
* Shift differential
* Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
