  • Scheduled Hours:
    • 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM (with 0.5-hour lunch, 8 hours total)
    • 6:45 AM - 5:15 PM (with 0.5-hour lunch, 10 hours total)

Medical Setting:

  • Setting: Mix of Inpatient & Outpatient
  • Call Requirements:
    • 6 call shifts per month
    • Weekend call is Friday (3 PM or 7 PM) to Monday (7 AM)
    • Monday-Thursday call is 7 AM - 7 AM
  • Patient Ages: Primarily adult; pediatric patients are transferred out
  • Volume: Annual ER Volume: Approximately 19,000 annually

Responsibilities and Types of Cases:

  • Anesthesia Coverage:
    • General surgical cases (adult)
    • Minor nerve blocks
    • IV regional anesthesia
    • Spinal anesthesia
    • Epidural anesthesia
    • Regional anesthesia
    • Obstetrical cases

Support Staff:

  • Traditional tech, RN

Charting System:

  • Meditech

Additional Information:

  • Credentialing Timeframe: 90 days, temporary privileges available
  • Call at OMH: Beeper call. On weekdays, the provider on call will cover a room during the day.
  • OR Schedule:
    • Monday-Friday: ORs operate from 7 AM - 5 PM with the first cases starting at 7:30 AM.
    • They run 2 rooms until 5 PM and 3 rooms until 3 PM during the week.
    • Only one call team is available after 5 PM on weekdays, holidays, and weekends.
  • Average Number of Surgical Cases Per Day: TBD, call coverage only
  • Trauma Level/Designation: Trauma Level 4
  • Description of OR Staff: Traditional tech, RN
  • Number of Operating Rooms: 5 ORs, 2 procedure rooms
