Job Description

 

Summary:

The QC technician is responsible for operational support including quality control, cross-departmental support and EHS compliance.

Essential functions:  

  • Performs Quality Control (QC) analyses on all required raw materials, processes, finished products, and waste samples.
  • Maintains proper files for retaining samples and quality records. Remove retains from the building when necessary.
  • Prepares reagents and standards, calibrates instruments, and troubleshoots instruments as needed
  • Preventative maintenance for all lab equipment
  • Interprets analysis results, records data, and enters results into LIMS.
  • Collect water samples for testing and gather information for permitting.
  • Maintain LIMS with the completion of accurate data
  • Maintain an inventory level of lab consumables and lab reagents.
  • EHS responsibilities include: possible inspections and audits as assigned, participating in Hazard Reviews as needed, recommending safety improvements, completing of safety action items as assigned, completing required regulatory training, and compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Other assignments derived from the American Carbonyl leadership team to meet the goals and objectives of the organization.

Education:

  • Associate degree in Science Preferred or High School Diploma/GED with 3-5 years in industrial work experience.

Requirements:  

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, & and Outlook; Basic math skills
  • Demonstrate self-motivated ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Great attention to detail
  • MRP/ERP system experience preferred but not required.
  • Must not be seriously deficient in hearing or sense of smell and must be able to wear a demand-style respirator.
  • Ability to work approved overtime if needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
