The Protected Communications Systems Hardware Department within the Collins Mission Systems organization has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Section Manager to join our team. This position is for a Sr. Manager to lead one of the Mechanical Engineering and Design Sections within the Protected Communications Systems Hardware Department.
What You Will Do
• Lead approximately 15 mechanical engineers
• Work with other Mechanical and Electrical Section Managers and Leads
• Review performance and career development of all members of the section
• Perform Key roles on programs and perform special assignments as needed
• Interface with other mechanical managers, engineers, designers, and structural/thermal analysts, as well as managers and engineers from other disciplines, along with program management and external customers
Qualifications You Must Have
• Ability to apply mechanical engineering knowledge to solve complex design problems
• Ability to lead design teams from product concept definition to production
• Ability to interact productively with other team members across various disciplines, including systems engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and program management
• Ability to perform as a change agent
• Experience with program cost and schedule monitoring and reporting
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
• ACTIVE Secret Security Clearance or HIGHER REQUIRED
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
• 5+ years of experience in Task Management or other Lead roles on Development programs
• Working knowledge of military and commercial design, materials, and process specifications
• Able to identify and communicate technical issues and risks that may impact cost, schedule, or other aspects of product design
• Experience in bid and proposal development and project planning
• Experience as an IPT/CPT Lead, Chief Engineer or Program Manager
• EVMS Certified and professional exposure to EVMS or similar budget tracking system
• Excellent presentation and technical writing skills
• Experience in a product data management environment (PTC Windchill)
• Experience with RTX policies and processes

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
