Job Summary

Teaching students in the Flight major degree/certificate programs to meet the requirements necessary to obtain FAA Private, Instrument, Commercial, and Flight Instructor Certificates.

Responsibilities

Duty 1 -
Teach students in Flight Management major degree/certificate programs to meet the requirements necessary to obtain FAA Private, Instrument, Commercial, Multi-Engine, and Flight Instructor Certificates.

Duty 2 -
Instructing initial CFI candidates

Duty 3 -
Assist in maintaining TSA and University records.

Duty 4 -
Performs related duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot/Assistant Chief Pilot.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.

Other Required Qualifications
FAA certificates: Certified Flight Instructor with Instrument rating (airplane), Commercial Pilot with instrument rating (airplane), valid 2nd class medical free of any operational restrictions
Must have at least 400 hours dual given with 80% pass rate or been a CFI more than 2 years with 200 hours dual given.

Required Experience
Prior flight instruction in VFR and IFR ratings with a favorable pass rate in practical tests for students.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree or higher
