Position: Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator, RN

Job description: The RN Research Coordinator is a professional registered nurse, with research-specific knowledge and skills, who has general responsibility for managing clinical trials for the Research System . The RN Research Coordinator ensures the integrity and quality of clinical trials are maintained and conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, Institutional Review Board IRB requirements, and WRI policies and procedures. Utilizing the nursing process, the RN Research Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordinating clinical trials in a manner that holds the protection of human subjects as the most important principle.
Job Qualifications
- Minimum requirements to be considered qualified to do the job.
- Required Minimum Education: Graduate from an approved school of nursing. BSN preferred.
- Required Minimum License: Current/active license as a registered nurse in the State of Georgia Required
- Minimum Certification:
- Must have a current BLS card from the AHA Preferred
- Certification: CCRC or CCRP
- Minimum Experience: Five 5 years of experience as a nurse; hospital experience preferred; Critical Care or Emergency Room experience a plus.
- Preferred Experience: Research experience Required
- Minimum Skills:
- Strong computer skills; good oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal and organization skills.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in using a decisive, composed, and respectful manner.
- Possess excellent time management skills; practices nursing using evidence and analytical skills along with possessing strong critical thinking skills.
- For Direct Patient Care positions, Indicate American Heart Association or American Academy of Pediatrics
- Certification required:
- BLS Basic Life Support
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- NRP Neonatal Resuscitation Program
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- Frequently moving about the office, building, or other facilities within the service area; frequently positioning self to access files, computers, equipment, and other objects; performing repetitive motions with wrists, hands and fingers in using the keyboard and other office equipment
- Regularly exerting up to 25 pounds of force to move objects.
- Must demonstrate the ability to communicate, speak, and enunciate to express / exchange ideas and detailed information in person and on the telephone.
- Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken or written English to impart oral or written information to others and to convey detailed spoken instructions to others.
- Work requires a minimum standard of visual acuity, with or without correction, with the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus, i.e. shift gaze from viewing a computer monitor to forms that are closer to compare data at close vision,
- Frequent/routine walking, standing, stooping, assisting with positioning of patients, lifting while appropriately using safe patient handling while always optimizing the use of appropriate lift equipment
