OUR NEXT PRESIDENT & CEO

We are seeking a visionary leader to serve as President & CEO for our dynamic 501c6 organization, which encompasses a chamber of commerce, economic development organization, tourism office, and downtown marketing agency. As the driving force behind our collective mission, you will spearhead initiatives to promote regional prosperity, foster business growth, and enhance community vitality. With a keen understanding of economic trends and a passion for innovation, you will leverage your strategic acumen to cultivate partnerships, advocate for our stakeholders, and drive sustainable development across sectors. MISSION

To work with the Boards of Directors, staff, volunteers and members to accomplish the mission and goals of the Greater Burlington Partnership and to serve as the chief executive officer of the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with Board members, volunteers and staff, providing the leadership necessary to accomplish the short- and long-term goals of the organization, including the Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development, Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Downtown Partners.
  • Managing the overall financial health of the organization while suggesting innovative ways to increase diverse revenue streams.
  • Developing relationships with community leaders in surrounding areas and advancing regional cooperation between the Partnership and other regional partners to enhance the region’s economic and community vitality.
  • Lead, hire and develop existing staff and future staff with the qualifications and skills necessary to establish and maintain an outstanding and continuously improving organization. Terminate employees when they are not making the necessary contribution to the organization’s success.
  • Maintain a visible and professional profile in the community.
  • Establish and maintain the personal and organizational partnerships necessary to accomplish success.
  • Always represent the Partnership and the community in a positive and professional manner.
  • Pursue professional development and networking opportunities to ensure that the Partnership’s programs are constantly evolving to meet the community’s needs.
  • Promote the accomplishments of the organization to members, investors and residents of the community.
  • Lead the Partnership’s short- and long-term planning process and implement fundraising initiatives to accomplish the organization’s goals.
  • Periodically review the staff and volunteer organizational structure to ensure that they optimize the delivery of service to members, investors and partners.
  • Recommend to the Board of Directors such policies as may be necessary to efficiently and effectively carry out the mission of the organization.
  • Maintain an organized and attractive Partnership facility.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Chair, Executive Committee and Joint Powers Board as they may pertain to the overall Partnership’s mission.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 8-years senior executive management experience required
  • Five plus years of management experience in Chamber or Association Management with a focus on Business
  • Preferred bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate a consistent track-record for producing results in the areas necessary to lead a world-class membership organization.
  • Graduate of U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management (IOM) preferred
