Duties:
  • The position provides group and individual therapy.
  • Must be able to treat individuals with co-occurring disorders.
  • Position will provide therapeutic interventions to address both chronic health problems and mental health symptoms for consumers.
  • Position will complete assessments and make treatment recommendations based on presenting symptoms.
  • Position will complete treatment plans, crisis plans, no harm contracts, releases of information and any other relevant documentation with consumers.
  • Position will complete all documentation in the electronic medical record within 24 hours of initiation and update documentation as set by the program standard.
JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY

Summary of role of team:
  • The IOP clinician is responsible for assessing the clients co-occurring needs and making recommendations to the treatment team regarding level of care and involvement of supports.
  • IOP often coordinates with MAT, medication management, and case management services.
Summary of position:
  • IOP clinician is responsible for conducting individual assessments to determine criteria that supports a diagnosis of co-occurring disorder.
  • IOP will identify recommendations for treatment including outpatient or inpatient/detox care and coordinate referrals.
  • IOP clinician will collaborate with medication management, individual therapy, and case management services as well as coordinate collaboration with probation, DCS, or other entities that supports the client's recovery process.
  • IOP clinicians is responsible for scheduling assessments, conducting orientation for a screening process to determine eligibility for services, identifying financial requirements for grants and funding sources for options of treatment, and conducting group for IOP and relapse prevention.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT
  • The IOP Clinicians utilizes individual and conference space in the clinic to hold sessions and group.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB SUMMARY

1) Service Delivery.
  • Clients will be offered quality care in a group and/or individual setting.
  • Completes screening, orientation, and intakes into programming.
  • Facilitates IOP group sessions, with frequency and curriculum outlined by program guidelines.
  • Provides evidence-based therapeutic interventions in individual, group, and/or family formats as appropriate.
  • Introduce clients to various recovery modalities, including but not limited to the 12-Step model.
  • Refers clients for and or coordinates care with medication assisted treatment (MAT) providers when appropriate.
  • Develops and updates client treatment plan. Uses the plan as a living document to coordinate the delivery of services throughout the clients' participation in the program. Ensures client achieves goals and objectives or modifies plan as appropriate.
  • Facilitates random drug screens with clients.
2) Professionalism.
  • Maintains regular contact with referral sources and collaborates as needed regarding client care.
  • Works closely with community partners and other Center programming to coordinate client care.
  • Acts as a liaison to various forensic agencies, departments of children services, and other governmental entities as directed.
  • Attends appropriate community events, taskforce meetings, training events, etc., upon request or as assigned.
  • Works towards achieving or maintaining licensure as outlined by their state board of licensure.
  • Meets with supervisor on a consistent basis to address identified concerns.
3) Documentation.
  • Completes all documentation in compliance with Center standards and practices.
  • Completes clinical documentation in all systems (TNWITS, Centricity, etc.) to ensure compliance with payer source standards.
  • Maintains clinical and administrative compliance within all Center P&P, federal confidentiality (including 42CFR part 2), and CARF guidelines.
  • Review, update, and/or revise treatment plan as appropriate to client's progress (weekly).
  • Bases treatment decisions on a clinical framework and effectively establishes and documents medical necessity for the appropriate level of care.
  • Effectively manages admissions and discharges; makes referrals for clients and/or family members as appropriate.
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive and integrated service plan; client record clearly communicates the plan.
4) Teamwork
  • Works in a multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs of clients and help support team members.
  • Attends weekly Treatment Team meetings; gives and receives positive feedback with team members.
  • Demonstrates a consideration and concern for fellow workers and promotes harmonious relationships and attitudes.
  • Updates referral sources on client's progress weekly as appropriate.
  • Communicates directly and approaches conflict with a problem-solving, win/win approach.
  • Demonstrates respect for cultural differences.
5) Productivity/Administrative/Census Management
  • Completes administrative tasks in a timely manner.
  • Maintains client census per division standard.
  • Completes accurate time sheet prior to deadline each pay period.
  • Keep up-to-date attendance roster for groups and individual sessions.
  • Clinician will assist in completing monthly utilization report as directed.
  • Implements assignments given by supervisor by established deadlines.
  • Completes additional job duties as assigned.
  • Meets QA/QI indicators as set by the program.
COMPENSATION:
  • Starting salary for this position is approximately $48,900 /yr based on relevant experience and education.
Schedule:
  • The IOP clinician is a full time, exempt employee who operates typically within Monday through Friday 11am-8pm with a scheduled lunch.
  • The schedule of the employee is determined upon group time and is subject to change.
Travel:
  • This position requires an F endorsement which is mandatory for transporting clients.
Equipment/Technology:
  • Basic computer skills are required for email, timekeeping, and documentation in the electronic medical record.
QUALIFICATIONS - IOP Master's Level Clinician

Education:
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree in Psychology, Marriage and Family therapy, Counseling, Social Work, Addiction Studies, or other closely related field of study.
Experience / Knowledge:
  • Extensive knowledge of addiction and general knowledge of mental health and co-occurring disorders is essential.
  • Knowledge of 12 step programs, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and aftercare planning is required. Knowledge of trauma-informed care/practices is preferred.
  • LADAC II or other relevant license or license-eligible with willingness to obtain.
  • Experience working 1:1 and in a group setting with adults suffering from substance use and/or co-occurring disorders is preferred.
  • Computer experience and working with electronic medical records is preferred.
Physical:
  • Clinician must be able exercise sound judgment and effective decision making, ability to set boundaries, aptitude for empathic listening, flexibility, willingness, and adaptability to working with diverse populations.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and possess good time management and organizational skills.
  • Clinician must be able to work independently and in a team setting, while adhering to federal confidentiality laws and accepted standards and guidelines.
  • Must be able to initiate and maintain clinical relationships and interact appropriately with referral sources and other community partners.
  • Must be able to see with correction, hear normal tones, and talk on phone.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and be able to push/pull up to 150 lbs.
  • Close computer work required.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team with various personalities.
  • Must be able to do long periods of sitting and standing.
